Description

Guggal resin is one for the curious: a loose incense resin that you burn on charcoal instead of lighting directly. The tub contains around 45g to 50g, with weights being approximate, and the resin releases a smoky, intriguing fragrance as it warms on the disc.

Add it to a collection of resins or try it on its own on a slow Sunday. It is used with charcoal discs in an incense holder.

Pack details

  • Size: 6.5 x 6 cm
  • Resin: Guggal
  • Weight: Approx. 45-50g
  • Packaging: Tub

How to burn

Light a charcoal disc, holding it with tongs, and place it in your incense holder; the charcoal then lights itself across the surface. Once it starts to turn grey around the edges, add a little resin. Some people put sand in the holder to help absorb the heat.

Quick facts

  • Releases its scent on hot charcoal
  • A different choice from the usual sticks and cones

Storage

Store somewhere cool and dry, away from direct sunlight.

Safety

  • Charcoal tablets get extremely hot: light them with tongs, never by hand, and only in a heat-resistant container.
  • Use in a well-ventilated room, on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • Never leave burning charcoal or incense unattended, and keep it away from children, pets and anything flammable.
  • Let the container and ash cool completely before touching or emptying it.
