This large molten glass bowl starts as recycled glass, blown by hand and then draped, still hot, across a length of gamal root. As it cools it keeps the outline of the wood, which is why the two sit together so snugly. Underneath, the wooden base is hollowed out to take a cable and bulb, and it arrives with a UK light fitting and an LED bulb.
Fill it with house plants or air plants, rake a miniature zen garden inside or float candles on water. Balinese makers work by hand in the traditional manner, so no two bowls match: tiny bubbles or faint scratches can appear in the glass, and size and design differ a little.
