A vase with its own piece of Bali attached. The glass, which is recycled and blown by hand, is settled onto a Gamal root while still molten and takes on the outline of the wood as it cools. Natural and man-made end up locked together, earthy and smart at once.
Key points
- Art glass vase on a Gamal wood stand
- Shaped over the root while hot
- Handcrafted in Bali
- One of a kind
Use it for cut flowers, a trailing air plant or a few decorative stones. It earns its place on a mantelpiece or hallway table, and since the root dictates the glass, yours is the only one quite like it.
The specifics
Material: Recycled glass and Gamal wood
Making: Handmade in Bali; hand-blown glass
Looking after it
Handle with care: the glass is fragile. Wipe the wood with a soft, dry cloth.
