Where the ornate censer is all engraving, this one keeps things simple: polished brass, a vented lid and a carved wooden handle. It is solid brass, and it is used for incense cones or for charcoal and resins.
The understated design suits any room, from a home altar to a mantelpiece, and its 11 x 6 cm size is practical for everyday use.
At a glance
- Simple, understated design
- Vented lid lets smoke flow evenly
- Practical size for everyday use
What it holds
Takes: Incense cones, or charcoal and resins
Measurements
- Size: 11 x 6 cm
- Material: Solid brass with a wooden handle
Setting it up
Light a charcoal tablet with tongs and let it settle into the container until it glows and turns grey at the edges, then sprinkle a little resin or loose incense on top. Incense cones can be lit and placed inside without charcoal.
Fire safety
- Charcoal tablets get extremely hot: light them with tongs, never by hand, and only in a heat-resistant container.
- Use in a well-ventilated room, on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
- Never leave burning charcoal or incense unattended, and keep it away from children, pets and anything flammable.
- Let the container and ash cool completely before touching or emptying it.
